L-shaped bunks fit nicely into corners and often include built-in storage or desk space underneath.

Better yet, look for sturdy construction with solid guardrails on the top bunk and a stable ladder that's easy to climb. Some bunk beds convert into two separate beds later, which gives you flexibility as your kids grow. The best bunk beds make sharing a room easier while giving each child their own space.
